27/01/08:
The Premier 1 & 2 men had wins over the weekend. The P2's
beat PK, whilst the P1's had wins against Dodgers and Royals.


22/01/08: Brooke
Cutting, a draft player for the Pride from Wellington, caused the
game to go into overtime with an inside the park homerun in the
seventh inning to equal the run scored in the third by

Norana Park in the first weekend of the men’s NZCT National

10/12/07: There
was more trans-Tasman sporting misery for New Zealand on Saturday as
the Black Sox lost 3-2 to Australia Green in the Pacific Series
softball final in Canberra. Read more here.


09/12/07: It was
a successful day for both the premier teams on Saturday. The
women beat PK 12-0, while the men beat Newlands 8-4.

Premier One men played PK on Tuesday, winning 2-1.

taken in the Prem 2 game last Saturday against PCU. More

18/11/07: The
Premier One men's team beat Royals on Saturday. After surges
throughout the game, they ended the game in the 8th innings winning
8 runs to 9. Their next game is against Cardinals at Fraser
Park, Saturday 24th Nov 1pm. The Premier One women lost their
game on Saturday 5-0 to Saints.

Our Prem 1 Women’s team is having a QUIZ NIGHT on the 24th November to raise funds toward expenses for the Club Championships in March. Get a team together (maximum of 6 players) for a night of fun and brain testing. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, spot prizes and of course supper will be provided. Tickets are $15 per person and are available from team members.

The 2007 ISF Congress was held
October 24 – 28 in Manila. The major focus throughout the Congress was the attempt
being made to have softball reinstated to the list of sports for the 2016 Olympics. To drive this at international
level a campaign has been formalized and implemented under the banner of

08/11/07:
The mighty Johnsonville Knights take on the Steelers at Martin
Luckie #3 this Saturday at 3pm. Also, the Cripples take on St
George Dragons at the Velodrome at 3pm .........good luck to both
teams! 

04/11/07:
In the two games held at JV HQ, the Premier 1 women won against
Porirua, whilst the men lost 6-0 to Porirua.


28/10/07:
The Premier 1 men started their inter-city season on Saturday with a
win over Hutt Valley Dodgers 13-6. The Premier 2 men showed
signs of improvement in their 8-2 loss to Kapiti. The Premier
1 women were playing in the Saints tournament over the weekend,
hopefully some results will be posted here soon. Someone in
the know could provide the results by clicking here.


25/10/07:
Our Under 13 girls team are set to play Newlands this Saturday at
Newlands # 3 at 9am. Good luck! 

25/10/07: Welcome back to

22/10/07:
The women's intercity club competition started on Saturday, with
Newlands causing the first upset of the season when they beat our
team 3-2 in the early game at Hataitai Park, for more details click here.

22/10/07:
The Premier 1 Men picked up a win against Cardinals in the final day
of the Doreen Dalton tournament in the Hutt Valley. Miramar
ended up winning the tournament, beating Porirua 5-4 in the
final, more can be read here.

20/10/07:
The season finally started today, with the Premier 1 men playing 2
games in the Doreen Dalton tournament at Fraser Park, unfortunately
losing to HCU and PK. Tomorrow's games are against Miramar,
Porirua and Cardinals. The Premier 2 men also played today,
losing to Royals.

13/10/07:
Due to the rain over the past week or so, the first round of Premier
softball has been cancelled.

08/10/07:
The softball season starts this Saturday. The Premier One
men's team play an undisclosed opponent, at a secret location and at
a super secret time. The details of which will hopefully be
published soon, perhaps even on the Wellington Softball
Association's website, but this is yet to be
confirmed.

30/09/07:
The New Zealand Institute of Sport is delighted to offer an athlete
from the Wellington Softball Association a full tuition fee
scholarship for the 2008 academic year...read more here.

19/08/07:
A correction to the note below, further pre-season trainings will be
held at Alex Moore at 10am on Sunday, until further notice.


15/08/07:
Indoor pre-season training will start this Sunday for the men.
It will be at Petone Indoor Bowling, at 10.30am. All new and
existing players are welcome to attend. It will be the same
time/place for the next few weeks.

Johnsonville Softball Club will be celebrating 70 years of softball this coming season. We are planning a fun weekend and would love to have a good turn out of past and present club members.

premier 1 mens and womens teams have finished their perspective
seasons with club national tournaments. The mens team ended up
placing 13th, with a 4 win, 5 loss record. The women placed
