11/03/07: The
premier 1 mens and womens teams had victories on Saturday. The
men beating Cardinals 9-2, while the women beat Saints
6-3. 

26/02/07: Three
times is a charm for Auckland who claimed their third NZCT National
League title today at Fraser Park, Lower Hutt with victory in the
final over Wellington 6-5. Read more here.


26/02/07: This

07/02/07: The
New Zealand women's softball team have failed to qualify for next
year's Olympic Games in Athens after losing to Taiwan in the final
of the Asia-Oceania qualifying tournament last night. Read

28/01/07:
Two more of our young players recently performed well at National Age Grade Tournaments. Jessica Jowett was named Top Pitcher and also made the Tournament Team at the Under 15 Girls (which Wellington won), and Josh Pettett was named in the Rest
Tournament Team at the U15 Boy’s. Well done Jess & Josh!

16/01/07:
The Premier 1 men's team have tonight beaten PK
5-4.

14/01/07:
The Premier 1 women's team had a win and a loss on Saturday, beating
Tawa 22-0, but losing to Te Aroha 9-2. The Premier 1 men 'won'
their game on Saturday, the game was defaulted by Cardinals, thus
J'ville winning 7-0. Today's game against Miramar has been
rained off.

11/12/06:
After taking full advantage of the cooler weather the Junior draw
has come out of hibernation, and makes an appearance via the Junior
Club link to the left. 

03/12/06:

On Saturday, the premier 1 womens team won 7-6 over Porirua, whilst
the men lost 5-3. Today, the Premier 1 men's team beat Royals
and Dodgers. 

28/11/06:
The premier 1 mens team played Kapiti tonight at Porirua Park,
winning 9-3. 

26/11/06:
Lion Red Classic tournament in Hastings...the team has lost the semi
final 10-2 to Giants. 

26/11/06:
Latest results from the Lion Red Classic tournament in Hastings,
which the Premier 1 men's team is competing in. Saturday: 6-3
Metro loss, 7-2 Fastpitch win, 8-0 Dodgers win, 7-2 Tamatea win.
Sunday: 6-2 Metro win, 9-0 Porirua loss. Now playing Giants,
the winner of this match will go through to the final to play
Porirua.

womens teams playing on Saturday. The women won against Hutt
Valley Saints 6-3, whilst the men lost to Kapiti 7-5.

16/08/06: At a
presentation dinner held on Saturday 12th August, The Hon. Peter Dunne
presented Donna Francis with a North Wellington Voluntary Service Award for
2006. Donna was nominated for her outstanding contribution to Junior Sport
in our region, and was one of just 6 people to receive an award at the
dinner which was attended by over 100 guests. Our congratulations and
sincere appreciation to Donna and her family. Click on

30/07/06: The
venue for the AGM on Monday 14th August has changed. It will
now be held at the clubrooms, not at Jays bar as previously
advertised.

standings, pools etc for the Canada Cup can be found at

then click on the "Futures" title. The Canada Cup is
a tournament involving 30 teams from the USA, Canada, Chinese Taipei
and a NZ youth selection. This team includes Brooke Cutting
from our Premier 1 Womens team.

then survived a furious Cuban comeback to claim the inaugural World

25/03/06: The Premier
1 men's team have just missed out in qualifying for the top 8
section at the Open Club Tournament in Hastings. After wins
against Giants 6-5, Hutt Valley Marist 4-3, they had to win against
Richmond Keas to go through, they ended up losing that one
2-1. For a full run down of the mens tournament, click
here. It looks like the women's team have had some close
loses, results are here.


20/03/06:
The club's senior prize giving was held on
Saturday just past. Most teams were well represented, with a
lot of tales told and beer consumed. Details of what was said
on the night can be read HERE, with a list of all award winners HERE. Photos of the evening are to
follow...watch this space. 

15/03/06: Reminder:
The Senior Club prizegiving will be held on Saturday 18 March
with happy hour at 6.30pm. Awards start at 7.30pm. Free entry, music
and nibbles to follow. 

15/03/06:
We have a number of teams in
final playoffs this weekend - they are as follows: - Prem Women -
playoff for 1st - 2A Women - playoff for 1st - 2B Fossils -
playoff for 3rd - 2B Tosas - playoff for 3rd (vs Fossils it looks
like) 

11/03/06: Next week is the final week of senior softball. We will be holding Prize giving that night. As Michelle didn’t hear back from anyone we made an executive decision (makes us feel important!) that the evening will be as follows: Happy Hour from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, with Prize giving commencing at 7.30pm. This will be followed by music & supper. There is no cover charge, so get your team together and come along for an evening of
celebration

08/02/06: The premier 1 mens team are re-invigorated after a prolonged absence from the softball diamond. A decision was made not to train on Tuesday, however most will be bursting at the seams for training on Thursday. Their draw for the weekend is the same as last week's washed out draw - first up Island Bay at 2pm then Cardinals at 3.30pm. There will however be a couple of guys not playing - Jimmy has a wedding to attend in the lighthouse at Castlepoint. This will be pretty special for Jimmy, as his cousin Jimmy is flying over from South Africa to be there. Also, Andrew Wharawarakura is celebrating his daughters 1st birthday, so he won't be playing. Although, he has infact left the door open for a bit of action, it just depends on the weather. Aside from that, all is GO GO GO!

27/02/06: Tickets are selling fast for this Saturday night's function
"Partying with the
Prems". You can get a ticket by contacting anyone from Prem 1 Men's team or by emailing:
jvillesc@xtra.co.nz. Over 68 tickets have been sold already.

26/02/06: There are only 3 more weekends of softball until the end of the season. The committee is thinking about Prize Giving and need to get your feed back on what type of evening you would like. If you have any suggestions please let one of us know so we can begin preparations.

26/02/06: $2000 was raised at the Batons Up function held at the club on Saturday. This money will go towards Brooke Cutting to aid her in getting to the futures tournament of the Canada Cup.

26/02/06: The Premier 1 women won against Tawa on Saturday. The Premier 1 men however, lost both games.

24/02/06: This Saturday the Premier 1 women are playing Tawa at Redwood Park at 3pm, whilst the men have a double header. The first game is against HV Marist - diamond 1 Fraser Park @ 1pm, then HV Dodgers - diamond 2 Fraser Park @ 3pm

20/02/06: The Prem 1 Women played Newlands on Saturday, and won 8-7.

18/02/06: The Prem 1 Men will be holding a social function in early March to help them get to the Club Nationals. As many of you will be aware funding from various Trusts is no longer easy to come by and even though the Men have been lucky enough to get some funding, there is a significant shortfall. So please help the guys out and get behind there fundraiser.

18/02/06: This week the 2A women’s team continues to sell Batons Up tickets to help raise funds for one of our young club members, Brooke Cutting. Brooke has recently been selected in a NZ U19 team to travel to Canada and play in the futures tournament of the Canada Cup. See Liz Parsons.

24/01/06: Brooke Cutting and Lauren Pollard made the U17 New Zealand tournament team. This tournament was recently held in the Hutt Valley, with Wellington eventually winning the final, against Hutt Valley, 5-1.

24/01/06: The Premier 1 Men played at the Wanganui Braves tournament over the long weekend. The team was disappointed to miss out on the semi - finals. Losses to Kapiti, PCU and Giants proving to be the down fall of the weekend. The team evenually ended up with 3 wins (vs Tamatea, Huia and the Blue Sox) and 3 losses. PCU were the eventual winners of the tournament, winning the final 1-0 over Giants.

17/01/06: The Premier 1 Men won against Kapiti tonight. The game was played at Redwood Park, went 8 innings and the final score was 6-5. The coach has requested that the club provide a car battery for his pace maker, as his current battery is flat due to excessive use.

16/01/06: Team management has confirmed that a little Pickering has entered the world. "Tenga and Jodie had a little boy this morning. Tenga Rapata Pickering was born at 17/1/06, 3.40am and weighed 7lb 13oz. Mum, Dad and the boys are fine."

10/01/06: The 2006 side of the season starts again this weekend. The Premier 1 Mens team are at home to Dodgers at 3pm. This game is likely to see the return of the journey man "Shark 'n' Taity", question on the street is, has he lost any of his pace since his record 9 stolen bases last year?

10/01/06: Hutt Valley were victorious at the men’s NPC, beating Wellington 6-0. Geoff and Lance (Abo) from our Premier 1 Men's team have made the tournament team. Further details

08/01/06: Team management have confirmed that "a little Doherty" has entered the world. "Amanda and Shane had a boy at 7.55am 9/1/05 at Hutt Hospital and weighed 7'4! No name yet. Mum, Dad and baby are well".

30/11/05: The Premier One mens team lost to PK on Tuesday night, score: 4-1

28/11/05: The Premier One womens team beat the previously unbeaten Miramar 5-4 on Saturday. The Premier 1 men play PK on Tuesday 29/11/05 6.15pm at Hataitai Park.

23/11/05: Wilson is one of four former players back in the mix for the Samoa series, with two debutants also named in Kohlhase's squad yesterday. Read more

23/11/05: The Premier 1 Mens team played Island Bay on Tuesday night, winning the game in 5 innings.

20/11/05: The Johnsonville Premier 1 Mens team won 8-5 over Hutt Valley Marist on Saturday. Playing their forth consecutive game in the now infamous white, blue, blue strip, the team had a job battling back from a 5-1 scoreline early in the game. This coming Tuesday (22/11/05) the men play Island Bay at 6.15pm at Haitaitai Park.

15/11/05: Tonight at Alex Moore the Premier 1 Men's team had a 2-0 win over Kapiti. The Premier One women play tomorrow night at 6.15pm, at Alex Moore.

14/11/05: Over the weekend just past, the Premier 1 Men's team had a 14-0 win against Island Bay, while the Premier 1 Women narrowly lost to PK 2-3. The Premier 1 Men's team play Kapiti, Tuesday 15/11/05 6pm.

9/11/05: The forthcoming weekend of softball sees the Premier 1 Mens team playing Island Bay, 3pm at Alex Moore.

18/10/05: The softball season for Johnsonville Softball Club got off to a great start with wins to the Prem 1 mens and womens teams.
The mens team beat Giants from Masterton 5-3, while the women beat Newlands 4-0.
This coming weekend, the Prem 1 men play in the Doreen Dalton tournament at Fraser Park. Saturday’s games are at 9am and 1pm, Sunday’s at 1pm and 5pm. There will be game(s) played on Monday also, times yet to be confirmed.
The Prem 1 women play Miramar at Alex Moore at 3pm.

11/10/05: The softball season commences this weekend (15th October 2005). The premier one men play Giants from Masterton. This game is at 1pm, Hataitai Park. It would be brilliant if club members went along and supported the team. Following this game, the Prem 1 mens team will welcome in the new playing season with a ‘bangers and mash’ night at the club rooms. Apparently this is a compulsory attendance by all Prem 1 men.
